And I might as well rant about a few things.

First of all, for those who shall not be named, GET OFF MY CASE ABOUT LIKING HETALIA.

For those of you who don't know, my current favorite series, Axis Powers Hetalia, is basically the nations of the world personified as people, and their personalities based on stereotypes, and it takes place IN THE YEARS BETWEEN WWI and WWII, with the Axis Powers as one "group" and the Allies as another.

Look, I can totally see why some people wouldn't like it. Hell, it got banned in Korea. And I don't have a problem with people not liking it; there's nothing in this world that can appeal to every single person. But I am willing to see other POVs on the subject. I mean, yes, depending on how sensitive you are, you may be offended by the portrayal of your respective country, since they're based on stereotypes. Or you may have moral problems with the Axis Powers and the Allies, two very serious groups of people, being portrayed as bishies in a [for the most part] silly-ish series. So if you don't like it? Fine, I'm not going to get on your case about it. But I happen to like it, because I get that it's a SATIRE, and I don't have a problem with how America is portrayed, because I know that it's all a parody. However, let's make a few things clear:

Just because I like APH does NOT mean:

-That I support the actions of the Axis Powers nor them as a group. Adolf Hitler, Hideki Toujou, and Benito Mussolini were AWFUL. PEOPLE. They did disgusting things, and I don't agree with anything thing any of those 3 nations did in the war. I am not a Nazi (Jewish, kthxbai), Facist, or anything of the sort.

-That I have no respect for WWII. WWII is a huge part of history, and I GET that horrible, HORRIBLE things happened in that time (even though APH is set in the years between the two WWs). I'm a sophomore in high school. I'm no idiot. I have a great deal of respect for those who served in the war and everything. Although I don't think anybody in the war was GOOD (some of the countries did worse things than others, though, yes), that doesn't make me any less respectful.

-That I am some sicko who gets a kick out of hearing about the atrocities that took place during WWII. If you know anything about APH, you would know that they focus very, VERY little on the actual war, and more on the "lives" of the "nations", with historical facts thrown in, etc. (i.e. "who" Prussia is, the history of the Roman Empire, things like that)

So, for those of you [again, no names], who continue to criticize my morals and my taste and such for liking the series, please, for the love of GOD, just SHUT UP. More than likely, I have told you that I don't mind if you don't like the series, but you don't have to get up in my face about it, but since I'm still getting crap...Oh dear God, just shut it. I don't want to hear it anymore. I know that I have moral issues with some of the characters/series that YOU like, but because I know you like them, I respect that and follow in the wise words of Bambi: If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all.

I'm slightly pissed at my English teacher, who thought that it would be super-duper fun to give us a speech and a huge journal project due on the same day. WTF Greenwald, wtf wtf wtf WTFFFFF.
